Overview

BLE Result processing system is a SaaS product that aims to simplify the School Level Result Processing system online & easily. It is an online portal that can be used by any school to transfer their entire result processing from paper to software. It requires teachers to enter their student information and based on that process the result and print them out.

Role

We basically had to build a backend system where we could configure things like subjects (with full marks & pass marks), teachers & enter student details, and finally enter the examination marks and create the result. We choose to use react for the front-end development nodejs for the backend and GraphQL for the API layer. We had a team of 5 people working on the project, 2 front-end devs, 1 full-stack dev (me), 1 project manager, and 1 DevOps guy. We followed Agile principles and used GitHub Projects to manage the tasks.

Challenge

Our main challenge was to build the exact replica of the existing paper-based system that we were using to create and publish the result. Creating an entirely new user experience would lead to a very complex migration process for existing users and would not be acceptable to the stakeholders.
